Focusing On More Than Ourselves

Everyone has secrets

Here and there

Everyone suffers

Here and there

Everyone lies

It’s everywhere

This anger and pain

That we hold inside

Takes over

We can no longer see

Who we truely are

Little by little

Day by day

We forget the good things

That keep us together

We lose interest in

Those we love most

We fight and fight

But yet no one wins

It’s a battle everyday

Just to live

But we don’t see that

We’re to busy

Being greedy

Being selfish

Being cruel to others

Without even realizing it

Why can’t let go?

Of the pain

The suffering

The anger

And just live happy

Why can’t we fight to live?

Instead of fighting for control

Why can’t we see what’s good in life?

Instead of focusing on ourselves

Life is full of wonder and excitment

Let’s just live happy

Let’s just fight to live

And for those we love most

Let’s focus more on

Being  giving

Being selfless

Being kind to others

Let’s let go of
